Dr Kegan Moneghetti

Clinical Associate Professor

Clinical Associate Professor Kegan is a cardiologist, subspecialised in cardiac imaging and exercise physiology based at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. Kegan previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Stanford University, California where he gained expertise in sports cardiology and precision health.

 

He currently holds appointments as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, Staff Cardiologist at the National Centre for Sports Cardiology St Vincent’s Hospital Australia and Senior Research Fellow at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute.

 

Dr Moneghetti see athletes and patients who are highly active or those with cardiovascular disease who want to increase their level of physical activity.

 

He completed his medical training with a sub-specialty in cardiology and internal medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. His undertook a doctorate degree and was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Further training has included an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship and a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular diagnostics and exercise physiology at Stanford University, USA. This combination of training and research output has led to him being identified at a leader in the field of exercise and cardiovascular medicine.

 

Kegan’s current research focus and projects include the integration of exercise testing into diagnostic pathways and translational studies identifying biomarkers that differentiate those people at greater risk of cardiovascular events. His research abroad has been funded by the NIH and his current work is supported by the Heart Foundation.
